Matt has been a madkeen amateur fisherman for 20 years, fishing for everything from garfish in knee deep water to Tuna and Albacore off the continental shelf. After years of skippering boats from Port MacDonnell to miles up the Coorong towards the Murraymouth he has decided to share his experiences and knowledge with anyone keen to fish the Kingston SE area.
We fish from 6 meters of water for Snapper and Whiting to trolling lures in 300m plus for Southern Blue Fin Tuna. Tuna usually cruise through the area between March and July, sometimes earlier but contact us and we can let you know.
Some excellent bottom fishing is available inside the tuna grounds with a wide variety being caught including Snapper, Flathead, Sharks, Morwong and Nannygai, just to name a few. You may even encounter some dolphins, whales, great white pointers, seals and sea bird life.
During the summer months the fishing is predominately Snapper and Sharks but when conditions and weather are right Mulloway and Kingfish can be another exciting option. Even 3-5kg crayfish can be a welcomed bycatch if you're bait is lucky enough to land within their reach.
